Macclesfield remain in relegation danger despite rescuing a point against League Two play-off hopefuls Crewe.

A push by Harry Davis on Ross Draper allowed Lewis Chalmers to edge the hosts ahead from the penalty spot.

Nick Powell levelled just before half-time from close range before dancing past two defenders to hit the top corner just before the hour-mark.

Former Crewe man Colin Daniel equalised 10 minutes from time when his first-time shot beat Steve Phillips.

Crewe remain just one spot outside the play-off zone, still level on points with seventh-placed Oxford United, with three games left.

Macc remain in 23rd, three points adrift of the safety zone - but with a better goal difference than 22nd-placed Barnet.

Macclesfield manager Brian Horton told BBC Radio Manchester:

"I can't fault the boys at all. I thought they stood up and were counted, every single one of them.

"It's a great goal that's got us a point. Colin's got that in his locker if he starts to believe in himself.

"We went ahead against the run of play but we should have gone 2-0 up. We had a great chance and, if that goes in, it's a completely different game.

"But Crewe are a good side and it's a good point in the end."

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis told BBC Radio Stoke:

"We got ourselves in front after being a goal down and showed great spirit, but we were guilty of being naïve and missing chances.

"Our possession was good and I thought we were much the better side.

"We made a couple of mistakes and Macclesfield seized on them.

"But, on the whole, I was pleased with the performance."
