Plymouth Argyle were left to rue a host of missed first half chances as they drew with bottom side Hereford United in the League Two relegation battle.

Warren Feeney missed an early chance before pressurising Hereford defender Stefan Stam to score an own goal.

Nick Chadwick missed an open goal and Simon Walton hit the post with a penalty for Argyle before half time.

But Hereford came back after the break as Tom Barkhuizen coolly got an equaliser on 52 minutes for the Bulls.

Hereford United manager Richard O'Kelly told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"I was very proud of them. We were disappointed to concede the goal but there were spells in the first half where we showed what we were capable of.

"Was it tactics, was it attitude? I don't know but we certainly gave it a go in the second half.

"Their penalty was missed. Was it a penalty? I couldn't see from where I was, I thought we might have had a shout in the second half.

"I think the rub of the green in a lot of decisions went against us today. We have to keep fighting to beat that. In training I'm the worst referee in the world so the lads are used to that sort of thing."

Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher tells BBC Radio Devon:

"The lads did well first half and should have put the game out of sight.

"We were disappointed with the second half but it was one of those games to make sure you didn't get beat.

"It shows how far we've come when we're disappointed we haven't won.

"Every game you play, especially away from home you've got to see it through. I felt we did well with long throws and corners but were a little sloppy with the goal. We'll just go again on Monday."
