Burton Albion claimed their first win of 2012 as a Matt Fish own goal gave them the victory over Gillingham.
The Brewers, who had lost their last eight, scored when Jacques Maghoma's shot was kept out by Paulo Gazzaniga but the ball rebounded in off of Fish.
Gillingham had earlier had chances but both Jordan Obita and Jo Kuffour were denied by home goalkeeper Ross Atkins.
Justin Richards and substitute Lionel Ainsworth missed opportunities late on to double Burton's advantage.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Burton Albion caretaker boss Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:
"We were very, very solid. We spoke about trying to get a really strong shape because when you're in a run like this, you need to get the basics right.
"We actually said to them before the game, 'if you do that and you work hard enough, you'll get that little bit of luck' and I think we thoroughly deserved that.
"I can't remember them getting too many chances. I thought we were really concentrated."
Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent:
"We conceded the goal and we dropped our heads. We didn't pass the ball, didn't find any quality and our decision making was totally non-existent second half.
"We knew they were under pressure but we didn't capitalise on that. It wasn't us second half.
"They got the goal and it lifted them and it knocked us. We totally lost our way and the quality was very, very poor tonight.
"A few of them looked out on their feet. The only one to come out of it with any credit was the keeper, I thought he was terrific."
