AFC Telford United dented Kidderminster's play-off bid with victory over their local rivals.

The hosts led within three minutes when Phil Trainer headed home Jonathan Brown's corner.

Jack Byrne was denied an equaliser by Ryan Young's save but the Bucks keeper was beaten when Anthony Malbon headed home Nick Wright's cross.

Chris Blackburn won the game with a superb volley from inside the box to take Telford clear of the bottom four.

Harriers are now seven points behind the top five, while the Bucks are six above the relegation zone.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire:

Biggest win of season - Sinton

"I've got to give the players a lot of credit as they delivered everything I asked for.

"I made a couple of changes and people stepped up to the plate - that's what we wanted.

"It was a little bit edgy at times but, considering where we are in the league, we're going to be. But that's as good as we've been for a long time and the crowd were magnificent."
