A late winner by Kieran Djilali for AFC Wimbledon robbed bottom club Dagenham and Redbridge of a point.

Ben Reeves spurned an early chance for the Daggers, volleying over from the edge of the area.

The hosts broke the deadlock when Jack Midson beat Jonathan Bond from 25 yards with the aid of a deflection.

Dagenham equalised when Michael Spillane headed home Damien McCrory's corner before Djilali beat Bond with a low volley.

AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown told BBC London 94.9:

"It was a must win game today, it didn't matter about the performance, didn't matter about anything other than gaining our first three home points for a matter of time.

"It puts a gap now between us, Plymouth and Dagenham of 10 points and at this point in the season it is a massive boost for us.

"It was never a day to relax, it was a day of 100% nerves and it was a matter of who kept their nerve.

"Dagenham could have easily won the game today - they had a fantastic chance

"You have to say how good the fans were, they stayed with us and the points were for them today. "
