Andy Yiadom's late winner helped relegation battlers Barnet pile more misery on cash-strapped Port Vale.
Vale, playing their first game since being deducted 10 points for entering administration, went ahead when Marc Richards fired in from 25 yards.
But that was as good as it got for the hosts as the Bees equalised when debutant Ben May stabbed home.
Yiadom, shortly after coming on as a substitute, headed in via the crossbar with his first touch of the game.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Port Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:
"We weren't as fluent as we have been but, once again, I'm proud of the boys. They gave their all again.
"When I relay a message to the players that I've been given - that as soon as the administrator comes in, he will pay the boys the money that they're owed - and he doesn't, that's a kick in the teeth.
"I've had a chat with [administrator] Mr Young. I'm currently taking legal advice so we'll see where we go next week.
"All I want to talk about is football because I'm sick of all the other stuff after this week. All I'll say to you is, and I repeat, that I'm taking legal advice."
Barnet manager Lawrie Sanchez told BBC London 94.9:
"I thought we played very well in the first half. We had good three half-chances and we didn't take them.
"We started the second half well, then there was the defensive error, and you think 'how are we 1-0 down in a game we were so dominant?'
"But to be fair to the lads, they regrouped after that.
"That was a well-worked three points, and it makes up for the defeat in the week. We got our just desserts."
