Yann Kermorgant headed a stoppage-time winner for League One leaders Charlton as they overcame Bournemouth.

Cherries striker Wes Thomas hit the post early on but home keeper Darryl Flahavan kept his side in the game with saves from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Danny Green either side of the break.

Danny Hollands and Dale Stephens went close for Charlton while ex-Addicks man Harry Arter shot wide for the hosts.

But Kermorgant powered in Green's corner to plunder all three points.

It was cruel on Bournemouth, whose players claimed in vain that Kermorgant's effort had not crossed the line before it was hooked clear.

But the home fans went home disappointed as Lee Bradbury's side slipped to their fourth successive defeat.

Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent:

"I'm really proud of how we played, played some really good football. We caused them a lot of problems.

"We need to be more clinical and we need to keep clean sheets. We had 18 attempts on goal and they had eight.

"Steve Cook's done really well on his return. He's got back very quickly and I thought he gave us that calmness on the ball."

Charlton manager Chris Powell told BBC London 94.9:

"It was 0-0 really today. A tricky game for us. But we like playing away, as our record shows.

"It was smash and grab today for us but you need things to go for you throughout the season.

"We got a moment of quality for the set play in injury time, we will take that and all our fans will take that. I'm just so proud of all the players."

"Charlton have only lost twice this season. Chris Powell has done a really good job there.

"You look at the players he's brought in and he's pretty much cherry-picked the players from this league and some from above.

"He's got a really good squad, but you can't take anything away from him, he's done a really good job there.

"They're a very solid side who don't concede too many goals and score quite a few."
