Cheltenham kept up the pressure on League Two leaders Swindon with a comfortable victory over Burton.

Jermaine McGlashan stroked home his first goal for the club from 20 yards before earning a penalty, only for Ross Atkins to save from Jeff Goulding.

Patrick Ada, making his debut for the Brewers, picked up two yellow cards in 10 minutes and was duly sent off.

Sido Jombati made sure of the three points when he turned home Jimmy Spencer's flick-on from close range.

Cheltenham Town Manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"I thought we were outstanding from start to finish, the work-rate was there and we've shown we can be versatile and adaptable.

"We made a couple of changes to the team, like we might need to do every now and again to keep things fresh, to keep people on their toes and keep the opposition sides guessing against us.

"Kaid Mohammed and Luke Summerfield have been two massive players all season, I've been able to leave them out and it not made a difference to the team.

"We've had a good week, seven points in three games."

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby:

"We didn't turn up today. In fairness to Mark (Yates, Cheltenham manager) he's put together a very strong squad, but we didn't help ourselves today. It was poor.

"From start to finish that's the poorest I've seen us this year. We got exactly what we deserved. We're a good team when we perform and today we didn't.

"It was a one-sided game that they dominated and we didn't help ourselves. I'm not taking anything away from them - they're a good side, they're top of the table for a reason - but we're better than what we showed today, so I'm frustrated."
