Eden Hazard hints at Tottenham move from Lille in summer

Lille midfielder Eden Hazard has told Belgian television he could join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Hazard, 21, is one of Europe's most sought-after talents and is reported to have attracted the interest of clubs including Real Madrid and Arsenal.

"Maybe it will be Tottenham. It is a great English club," he told RTBF.

"I said that I would go to England and there is very good players [at Spurs]. I have not yet signed, this is going to happen soon," he added.

  • Born: 7 January 1991, La Louviere, Belgium
  • Position: Midfielder/winger
  • Club: Lille, 131 appearances, 25 goals
  • International: 25 caps for Belgium, one goal
  • Honours: Lille, Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France 2010-11

Hazard has repeatedly expressed a preference for joining a Premier League club but says he would also consider moving to Spain.

"Spain is perhaps more my style of game but [if I move there] it must be to either Barcelona or Real Madrid."

Hazard had emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal after the departures of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Manchester City, but a move to Emirates Stadium last summer failed to materialise.

The Belgium international, who made his Lille debut as a 16-year-old and his international debut at 17, is under contract until 2015.

Last season he became the youngest player to win the Ligue 1 player of the year award after helping Lille complete a domestic double.
