Hartlepool easily beat Notts County in what proved to be Martin Allen's last game in charge of the visitors.

Allen was relieved of his duties following the match, which began badly for County when Evan Horwood's cross found Antony Sweeney to head home.

Neal Bishop then fired wide for County, before Sweeney grabbed his second by sweeping in Andy Monkhouse's delivery.

Hartlepool then completed the scoring when Monkhouse curled in a great effort to compound County's misery.

Allen leaves Notts County 11th in the League One table, eight points off the play-off places.
