Swindon strengthened their promotion challenge following victory away at struggling Hereford.

The Robins dominated the opening stages and took the lead from Paul Caddis' spot-kick, after Paul Benson was brought down by Ryan Green in the box.

Hereford then doubled their lead after Bulls keeper Adam Bartlett failed to hold on to the ball.

Hereford reduced the deficit when Rob Purdie smashed in a long-range effort but could not find an equaliser.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio told BBC Wiltshire:

"That is the most difficult ground to come and play football.

"It was a fantastic result and my lads prove once again that they can play a different kind of football.

"This is the kind of game that you have to win if you want to win the title. I'm very happy because of the way we won.

"We defended very well, with desire, determination. For this I'm very proud."
