AFC Telford pulled further away from the Blue Square Bet Premier relegation zone with victory over Braintree.

A Kyle Perry strike that was easily saved by Braintree's Nathan McDonald was the only real first-half chance.

The hosts took the lead after the break when Ryan Brooke headed home Sean Newton's delivery at the near post.

Braintree's Kenny Davis, Aswad Thomas and Brendan Kiernan all had efforts which flew over the bar as the Bucks held on for a priceless three points.

The win leaves Telford three points and two places above the relegation places.
