Ex-Scunthorpe United striker Jamie Forrester backs signings

Former Scunthorpe United striker Jamie Forrester thinks the loan signings of David Mirfin and Jon Parkin can lead the club away from relegation trouble.

Mirfin, 26, rejoined the Iron from Watford until the end of the season while Parkin, 30, is with them for a month from Cardiff City.

Forrester told BBC Look North: "Parkin's a fantastic signing, for me.

"He's a big lad and can be a presence on the pitch and I think that's something they have been lacking."

Forrester added: "Mirfin knows the club well. He left for his own reasons but it's good that they've brought him back."

Both players are set to make their debuts against Yeovil Town on Saturday.
