Hartlepool extended their unbeaten run under manager Neale Cooper to five games after playing out a dour goalless draw with Bournemouth.

Pools' Luke James, under the watching eye of a number of scouts, saw his header well saved by Darryl Flahavan.

The Cherries took control of the game but Wesley Thomas wasted the best chance of the afternoon when he blazed over from 10 yards out.

Visiting full-back Steve Cook also saw a header cleared off the line.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent:

"It's a good clean sheet from us and we did a professional job today.

"We probably had the better chances in the game, one cleared off the line and a couple of half chances on the edge of the box.

"Donal McDermott works hard for the team as well and he's just getting used to the way we play a little bit.

"It's a little bit frustrating, we could have sneaked into the play-offs today if we had won."
