Millwall and Derby shared the spoils after a drab draw in their Championship match at the Den.

Only three efforts hit the target throughout the entire 90 minutes.

Derby's Craig Bryson squandered the best chance as he shot wide from six yards after Millwall goalkeeper David Forde palmed Jamie Ward's effort straight into his path.

Liam Trotter headed wide for Millwall in the second half but the game petered out in disappointing fashion.

The Lions have only won once in the league since Boxing Day and remain close to the relegation places while Derby stay mid-table.

Millwall played the ball around midfield very confidently from the start but could not create many chances.

Captain Paul Robinson, back in the starting line-up after the FA Cup win over Southampton, headed a corner just wide after 28 minutes before Bryson wasted his opportunity to break the deadlock.

The home side almost took the lead after a 54th-minute goalmouth scramble but the ball would not fall to Trotter after Darius Henderson's initial effort.

That chance seemed to breath new life into the game but both sides continued to be wasteful in possession.

Andy Keogh was introduced by Millwall manager Kenny Jackett in the 66th minute for his home debut as he looked to give his side a greater attacking edge.

The hosts had a number of corners without posing much danger but Trotter managed to rise above the defence only to head wide of Frank Fielding's right post.

Keogh's first involvement was to flick on a free-kick to strike partner Henderson whose own header was deflected behind. but he could not make a decisive contribution as the match fizzled out.

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett: "It is not a bad result at all. There is some frustration because you obviously want to win - but when you look at the table it looks like a point gained.

"We had a lot of pressure on a very resolute Derby defence and couldn't convert that into the goals we needed.

"The Derby centre-halves defended very well but, at times in the final third, we put the ball in too early and perhaps too predictably."

Derby manager Nigel Clough: "We are back on track with clean sheets which is very important after conceding three goals and Barnsley and we looked a solid unit today.

"The pitch was bobbly and the ball was bouncing around there around everyone's head and throats at times, but both teams tried to get it down and play in quite difficult conditions.

"We had arguably the two best chances with Callum Ball's and then obviously Craig Bryson's."
