Barnsley sign Leyton Orient skipper Stephen Dawson

Barnsley have signed Leyton Orient skipper Stephen Dawson on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old midfielder is a former Republic of Ireland youth international and counts Leicester, Mansfield and Bury among his former clubs.

He joined Orient in 2010 and established himself as a key player at Brisbane Road before being handed the captain's armband.

Dawson told the club website: "I'd like to bring non-stop energy to the side."
