Bristol Rovers have signed Jim Paterson on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old, who can play at left-back or left-wing, has been training with Rovers since last week.
Paterson has previously played for Dundee United, Motherwell and Plymouth Argyle and most recently had a spell with Shamrock Rovers.
Meanwhile, the Pirates have parted company with midfielder Ben Swallow, 22, by mutual consent.
