Preston North End sign Rhys Murphy from Arsenal

Preston North End have signed Arsenal forward Rhys Murphy on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who has never played for the Gunners first team, had a loan spell at Brentford in 2009-10, failing to score in six appearances.

He told the Lilywhites website:  "I am delighted to be here. It has been a frustrating season so far because I have suffered a couple of injuries.

"Hopefully I will score goals and along the way pick up assists."
