Mark Farren and Davy McDaid agree new Derry City contracts

Derry City strikers Mark Farren and Davy McDaid have both signed new contracts at the club.

Farren, who underwent successful surgery after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2010, had been linked with a possible move away from Derry.

Negotiations are continuing over Daniel Lafferty's proposed move to Championship side Burnley.

Derry have signed ex-Dundalk defender Simon Madden while Rory Patterson's move has also been completed.

Northern Ireland international Patterson was in the middle of a season-long loan at Linfield from Plymouth but has now agreed a two-year deal with the Candystripes.

Derry defender Lafferty has been linked with a £200,000 move to Burnley after going on trial with the club.

Northern Ireland Under-21 international Lafferty had spells with Celtic and Ayr United before returning to his home town club in 2010.
