Kenny Shiels has strengthened his squad by signing Van Tornhout
Kilmarnock sign Belgian striker Dieter van Tornhout
Kilmarnock have signed Belgian striker Dieter van Tornhout on an 18-month contract.
The 26-year-old, who was born in Ghent, was recently with Cypriot club Nea Salamina Famagusta.
He also had spells with Sparta Rotterdam and Roda, is Killie's fourth signing in January. It is unlikely he will be considered for Saturday's League Cup semi-final.
Van Tornhout turned professional with Club Brugge in 2003.
After two years the striker went on loan to Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam.
He then signed for Roda JC in 2006 and scored five goals in 51 appearances during a three year spell.
The striker then moved to Cyprus joining Enosis Neon Paralimni in 2009 where he scored 18 goals in 50 appearances.
In 2011 he joined Nea Salamina Famagusta where he made three appearances.
The Belgian is the latest arrival at Rugby Park as Killie boss Kenny Shiels looks to strengthen his squad as they challenge for a top six finish in the Scottish Premier League and extended runs in cup competitions.
Central defender Michael Nelson was signed from Scunthorpe United, Ben Gordon joined on loan from Chelsea and Dean Shiels was tied up on a permanent deal from Doncaster.
