Stuart Beavon's brace helped Wycombe leapfrog Rochdale in the League One relegation zone.
Beavon latched on to Ben Strevens's through ball and chipped visiting goalkeeper Peter Kurucz to net his first of the game.
He doubled their lead in the second half, firing into the top corner on the half-volley for his 13th of the season.
Captain Dave Winfield poked home a third after Kurucz had failed to claim Matt Bloomfield's corner.
The result ended the Chairboys' four-game losing run while managerless Rochdale, who failed to test home keeper Nikki Bull, have now gone nine games without a win.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Wycombe manager Gary Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"We couldn't have asked for anything more really. The most important thing was the three points, but the players worked extremely hard to achieve that.
"It was a big game for us, we knew the importance of it, the target was the three points and we got a clean sheet.
"You couldn't play it down before the game, it was a big game and they certainly came up with the goods."
Rochdale caretaker manager Chris Beech told BBC Radio Manchester:
"I can only keep doing what I'm doing and look to make it better. It's a correction technique we're trying to do.
"I think I have a great week in terms of what can happen out there and what goes on at football clubs.
"They've drawn first blood and we've had a go without really responding and really getting up and hitting back."
