Mark Hudson agrees Cardiff City contract extension

Captain Mark Hudson has agreed a two-year contract extension with Championship high-fliers Cardiff City.

The 29-year-old centre-back has agreed the deal in principle and once the contract is finalised, it will keep him at the Welsh club until 2014.

Hudson has made 101 appearances for the Bluebirds since his £1m move from Charlton Athletic  in July 2009.

Hudson regained the captaincy this season as on-loan Wales striker Craig Bellamy wore the armband last term.

He initially replaced Joe Ledley  as skipper in August 2009 but the then boss Dave Jones gave the leadership role to Bellamy during his season at his home-town club while on loan from Manchester City.
