Crawley moved back to the top of League Two with a comprehensive victory over Burton Albion.

Claude Davis gave the Red Devils the lead when he rifled home from 16 yards after David Hunt's long throw.

After Tyrone Barnett had hit the bar for the hosts they went 2-0 up when Aaron Webster put through his own net from Matt Tubbs' cross.

Tubbs put the gloss on the win with a wonderful 30-yard strike that gave Brewers keeper Ross Atkins no chance.

Crawley assistant manager Paul Raynor told BBC Sussex:

"Burton are a very good side on a fantastic run of form but we really dealt with them today. They tried to stifle us but that was as well as we've played in a long, long time.

"It was a real all-round team performance. We dictated the tempo from the off. It's another three points which is what today was all about.

"We're delighted with the level of our performance. Burton will be up there in and around the play-offs."

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby:

"We were beaten by the better side today, the front two caused us havoc all afternoon.

"We never really looked like we were going to go on and do anything. We tried two or three different formations, but the problem was individuals.

"Their midfield dominated ours, their strikers caused us problems, their centre-halves were as good as I've seen in this division, so it was very difficult."
