Manchester City will face Liverpool in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup.
Crystal Palace -
conquerors of Manchester United
- will play fellow Championship side Cardiff in the other semi-final to ensure a first finalist from outside the top flight since 2001.
Palace host Cardiff in the first leg at Selhurst Park on Tuesday, 10 January and City entertain Liverpool at Etihad Stadium the following day.
The return legs will take place a fortnight later.
