Danny Rose headed in the first before Sam Foley, who crossed for the opener, doubled the lead with a sweet half-volley from the edge of the box.

Ismail Yakubu's close-range header gave Newport a comfortable half-time lead.

And the defender struck again with his head after the break to wrap up a morale-boosting win for the visitors.
