A second-half Matty Taylor hat-trick helped Forest Green to a comfortable victory over Alfreton.

Rovers took the lead when Taylor drilled in from close range before Anthony Wilson's curled effort from the edge of the area levelled the scores.

Taylor's close-range volley saw Rovers re-take the lead before completing his hat-trick with a placed 12-yard effort.

Charlie Griffin met Kieron Forbes' cross with a powerful shot as Rovers claimed their third consecutive win.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday tells BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

Hockaday enjoys 'breathtaking goals'

"I was really happy because at 1-0 we were the better team, then they scored a goal and we then showed bravery and bounced back from it with some breathtaking goals.

"We carved our way through them and should have ended with more goals, but we thoroughly earned our win today.

"We're getting close to the big group in the league and that's where we want to be."

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law told BBC Radio Derby:

The wheels came off - Law

"For 48 or 49 minutes I thought we were equal to them and I didn't think we were in danger.

"We had a good shape about us, we kept the ball and were a threat going forward.

"Then we gave a poor goal away. It was a diagonal ball into the box, we didn't deal with the first ball and we didn't deal with the second one.

"The next two goals were both from corners and that's where we've come undone."
