Windass scored Hull's winning goal in the 2008 Championship play-off final
Scarborough Athletic have signed former Hull City striker Dean Windass for a second spell with the club.
The 42-year-old joined the Northern Counties East League Premier Division club last season but he did not play because of media commitments.
He will be in the squad for Saturday's league game against Selby Town.
Windass retired in 2009 but returned to the game in August that year with Barton Town Old Boys in the Northern Counties East League First Division.
He also played league football for Aberdeen, Oxford, Bradford, Middlesbrough, both Sheffield clubs, Oldham and Darlington.
Meanwhile, Scarborough Athletic striker Ant Lynam has left the club and returned to his former club, Rainworth Miners Welfare.
