Daniel Bogdanovic scored twice as Jonjo Shelvey inspired Blackpool against rock-bottom Bristol City.

Dean Gerken spilt a shot from Shelvey that Gary Taylor-Fletcher slotted home before the new loan signing from Liverpool struck from 35 yards.

Pool keeper Matt Gilks made several fine saves before Bogdanovic converted a Brett Ormerod cross after 83 minutes.

Ormerod scored from six yards in injury-time before Bogdanovic converted a cross from Thomas Ince.

The result lifted the home side up to seventh in the table but the scoreline was slightly harsh on Keith Millen's City, who have picked up six points from their 10 Championship fixtures.

Gilks brilliantly denied Brett Pitman and Neil Kilkenny either side of half-time as City tried to force their way back into the contest.

But three goals in the final minutes of the match left the scoreline with a very one-sided appearance.

The flurry of late goals ensured Blackpool's biggest win of the season and extended their opponent's winless streak to seven Championship games.

Shelvey had only joined the Seasiders from Liverpool on Friday but he wasted no time settling into his new side.

He struck the Robins wall with a free-kick in the second minute and shot wide from long-range before his effort, spilled by the recalled Gerken, led to Taylor-Fletcher's opening goal.

Kevin Phillips shot wide for Pool after being played clean through but Shelvey was not so wasteful when he converted from long range after 66 minutes.
