A stoppage-time header from Tom Pope saw Port Vale secure a dramatic win at the expense of Bradford.

A spectacular 25-yard shot from Robert Taylor put Vale ahead but Bradford levelled through Jamie Devitt's drive.

Taylor lobbed Matt Duke in bizarre fashion to regain the lead only for Bradford to come back again thanks to Ritchie Jones' low 18-yard strike.

Pope settled a thrilling contest with a powerful header from Doug Loft's cross to leave Vale third in the table.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Port Vale manager Micky Adams told BBC Radio Stoke:

"It was a little bit too end-to-end for my liking. We started great and finished well, so it's just the bits in between that we've got to get right.

"Fair credit to Bradford, I'd like to bet they'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

"Any other opponents, we might have blown them away, but they gave us a real game."

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson told BBC Radio Leeds:

"It's a very cruel way to lose with the final kick of the game - obviously we got a point on Saturday with the last kick of the game, tonight we've been the victims of it.

"In the first half we didn't compete for the first ball up to their front players, it was too easy for them to get it down and turn against us.

"In the second half we did better and it gave us a platform to go and play from - I felt safer on the touchline, we did better, but we've got to compete better than we did."
