QPR sign Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand

QPR have completed the signing of Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old signed a three-year deal to join up with the Premier League newcomers.

Ferdinand only has a year left on his contract at the Stadium of Light and could have left the club on a free transfer next summer.

"The club's moving forward and things seem to be buzzing around here at the moment", he said.

The centre-back moved to the north east for a reported fee of £8m three years ago from West Ham.

Rangers were recently taken over by Tony Fernandes and have made four transfers so during the summer transfer window, bringing in Joey Barton , Luke Young  , Armand Traore  and Shaun Wright-Phillips .
