Nice deal for Ivorian Franck Dja Djedje

Ivorian striker Franck Dja Djedje has joined Ligue 1 side Nice on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old leaves Arles-Avignon after the club's relegation to the second division last season.

On its website, Arles explained that Dja Djedje had asked the club directors to be able to 'continue his career in French football's top flight'.

The former France youth international only joined Arles last year, scoring four times in 34 games.

Born in Ivory Coast, Dja Djedje moved to France as a 12-year-old and was soon enrolled at Paris Saint-Germain's academy.

Despite winning the European Under-19 Championship with France in 2005, Dja Djedje chose to represent Ivory Coast shortly after.

In 2008, he played all four games for the Africa nation's Olympic side as the Ivorians exited in the quarter-finals against continental rivals Nigeria.

Another Ivorian on the move is striker Arouna Kone, 27.

The striker has been loaned out from parent club Seville to Levante for a year, with the latter having an option to make the deal permanent at a later date.
