Gregg Wylde agrees new Rangers contract

Rangers midfielder Gregg Wylde has signed a new five-year deal with the Ibrox club.

The 20-year-old was the subject of a bid from Bolton earlier this month, with Rangers rejecting an offer in the region of £400,000.

Wylde was due to be out of contract at the end of the season and negotiations over new terms were protracted.

He made his Rangers debut in August 2009 and scored his first goal in last weekend's 3-0 win at Motherwell.

Prior to Bolton's unsuccessful bid, Rangers manager Ally McCoist had expressed concerns that Wylde was being touted to clubs in England  .

And on the approach from Owen Coyle's side, McCoist said: "The bid from Bolton was not accepted and I don't want Gregg Wylde to go anywhere

"He is a good young talent and we feel he has done very well."
