Macclesfield Town have signed striker John Grant on non-contract terms.

The 29-year-old was previously at Blue Square Bet Premier side Barrow but was released in January .

The former Crewe trainee has also had spells at Rushden, Northwich Victoria, Hereford, Telford, Shrewsbury, Halifax, Aldershot and Oxford United.

Grant has been training with the club during pre-season but is unavailable for the first league game due to the paperwork not being completed on time.
