Brown has been used at right-back and centre-half this term

Ipswich Town defender Troy Brown has left the club after rejecting the offer a new 12-month contract.

The 20-year-old had looked set to agree to the terms  in April but has made a last-minute U-turn and will continue his career elsewhere.

Brown, a signing from Fulham in the summer of 2009, played 16 times for Town this season.

His departure leaves boss Paul Jewell with just Damien Delaney and Tommy Smith as recognised centre-backs.

Wales Under-21 international Brown has been linked with a switch to League One side Leyton Orient and League Two's Rotherham.
