Mark Cavendish takes the lead in Ster ZLM Toer
Mark Cavendish took both the yellow and green jerseys on the second day of the Ster ZLM Toer in the Netherlands.
The second day of the race, which ends on Sunday, was a 167km stage ending in a bunch sprint after a second breakaway group was caught late on.
Cavendish lost to German Andre Greipel in a sprint finish in Schimmert.
"Beaten by another massive German in a wet Ster ZLM Toer but happy to have yellow & green jerseys!" Cavendish tweeted.
Cavendish finished third behind Marcel Kittel on the opening day but leads heading into Saturday, which is a 187km route from Hotel Verviers to La Gileppe.
The Ster ZLM Toer is Cavendish's final race before the Tour de France begins on 30 June.
