Eoin Morgan's unbeaten 128 led Middlesex to a six-wicket victory over Surrey in the One-Day Cup at Lord's.

Morgan hit 13 fours and five sixes in his 86-ball knock, putting on 166 with Neil Dexter (47 not out) to help his side chase down the visitors' 286-6.

Opener Tillakaratne Dilshan had earlier compiled a fine 115, while Azhar Mahmood added a quick-fire 52, to take Surrey towards a competitive total.

But Morgan steered the hosts to 292-4 with more than five overs left.

The match had looked in the balance when Ryan Higgins fell for 16 to leave them 126-4, but Morgan's emphatic striking, backed up superbly by Dexter, ensured victory with room to spare.

The England batsman smashed a huge six to bring up his century, and another to finish the match, as his last 32 runs came off just eight deliveries.

Dilshan's ton, meanwhile, was less explosive but just as important to his team, coming off 128 balls and including 11 fours, while Vikram Solanki (59) and Mahmood also contributed with useful scores.

Middlesex captain Eoin Morgan:

"Games against Surrey are always competitive, so it's great to be able to produce it against them.

"That's one of the highlights of my Middlesex career.

"This last month has really tested us with the schedule we've had and being on the wrong end of so many results in one-day cricket.

"But to stick at it and win today is testimony to the character of the players we have in our squad."
