T20 Blast: Wright sets up easy Sussex win against Kent
NatWest T20 Blast, The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence
Sussex Sharks 149-8 (20 ovs) beat Kent Spitfires 114 (18.4 ovs) by 35 runs
A belligerent half-century from Luke Wright gave Sussex the platform to beat Kent to claim only their third T20 Blast win.
Wright's 85, off 61 balls with seven fours and two sixes, was the backbone of the Sharks' total of 149-8 with Doug Bollinger (2-24) and James Tredwell (2-20) the best Spitfires bowlers.
But Kent's reply never got going as they stumbled to 114 all out.
Stef Piolet (3-14) was the pick of the Sharks' attack in their 35-run victory.
Piolet was well supported by leg-spinner Will Beer (2-25) and left-armer Lewis Hatchett (2-20) as all six Sharks bowlers used took at least one wicket.
England international Tredwell recently joined Sussex on loan, making his debut for the county in their Championship game against Yorkshire earlier this week, but is available to play for Kent in limited-overs cricket.
