Sangakkara century holds up England

Kumar Sangakkara struck a majestic 147, his maiden Test century at Lord's, as Sri Lanka reached 415-7 on day three of the first Test against England.

Skipper Angelo Mathews added a robust unbeaten 79 but Sri Lanka lost three late wickets in closing 160 behind.

Mahela Jayawardene made 55 and shared a 17th Test century stand with Sangakkara, second only to Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid's 20.

James Anderson and Chris Jordan took two wickets apiece for England.
