Glamorgan: Jim Allenby pleased with T20 Blast campaign so far

Glamorgan's Twenty20 captain Jim Allenby is pleased with the start his side have made to the T20 Blast competition.

The Welsh county are second in their group having won three of their five matches so far.

Glamorgan were set 208 to win their latest match, at Gloucestershire on Sunday, before rain forced a draw.

"I think the rain helped us more than them," said Allenby. "It means that we get a point and move on."

Glamorgan are just one point behind group leaders Hampshire, and host third-placed Kent in Cardiff on Friday.

"I'm really pleased with the start," said Allenby. "I'm really pleased with individual and team performances.

"Kent are doing really well, full of experience, a good side. It should be a really good game to watch."

Six of Glamorgan's nine remaining group matches are at the Swalec Stadium.

"We can't wait to go home and play in front of our own supporters because that really helps us," said Allenby.

"Four of our five games have been away. To have the record we've got, I'm really happy with that and the one game at home we are 100%.

"So it makes this game on Friday a huge, huge game."
