T20 Blast: Alex Lees leads Yorkshire to win over Derbyshire
NatWest T20 Blast, Headingley
Yorkshire Vikings 128-2 (14ovs) beat Derbyshire Falcons 127-6 (20ovs) by eight wickets
Alex Lees hit his first T20 half-century as Yorkshire Vikings wrapped up a convincing eight-wicket victory over Derbyshire at Headingley.
The 21-year-old overshadowed Australian debutant Aaron Finch, who hit the game's only six but fell for 19.
Skipper Wayne Madsen top scored with 34 not out, but Derbyshire's 127-6 after winning the toss never looked enough.
- Yorkshire's win was the fifth in their last six completed T20 matches against Derbyshire.
Lees reached 50 off 30 balls and finished unbeaten on 61 as Yorkshire cruised to 128-2 in the 14th over.
The left-hander collected nine fours during his innings, four of them from successive deliveries by Mark Turner, and after adding 64 with Finch, guided his side home in tandem with Jonny Bairstow, who contributed 29 off 16 balls to an unbroken stand of 42.
Earlier, Liam Plunkett (2-25) and Adil Rashid (2-19) were the pick of Yorkshire's attack, after youngster Oliver Robinson had struck the first blow with a direct hit from cover to run out opener Stephen Moore for 18.
The win was Yorkshire's first in the T20 Blast this summer, while Derbyshire have now lost three of their four games and remain bottom of their group.
