Hampshire and Surrey played out an inevitable draw in a rain-ruined match.
After rain completely washed out day three, Hampshire resumed their first innings on 289-3 and James Vince reached 159 before being caught behind by Steven Davies off Tom Curran (2-85).
The hosts eventually declared on 400-6 once Sean Ervine and Michael Bates secured maximum batting points.
Surrey then meandered to 99-2, with Rory Burns (53) making his first half century of the term, before the end.
James Tomlinson, playing his 100th first-class match for Hampshire, marked the occasion by having Graeme Smith lbw in the third over of Surrey's innings, and Dominic Sibley was run out for 20, but that was the last significant action.
BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James: "There were a few mutterings of a contrived result at the start of day four but neither team could agree on what to chase.
"Hampshire understandably wanted Surrey to go for a slightly harder target, given the fact they had dominated the game up until then having been put into bat.
"In the end, over 220 overs lost in the game took its toll, and playing for bonus was the only outcome on the last day."
