Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell says he has begun talks with Australian batsman David Hussey about a possible return next summer.
did not play for Notts last season,
but has played all but two seasons at Trent Bridge since 2004.

it was too early to make a decision but added: "David is someone we know well and we have spoken to and he is always keen.
"He likes playing for Notts and we love having him here."
Newell said there was still plenty to be discussed before a final call is made and much would depend on the fixture schedule for 2013.
"It is too early to make full decisions on next season. We want to get next year's fixture list and look at the clashes between Notts cricket and England matches and see when we are likely to lose players, and at that point we will make a decision.
"David is one of a couple of players we have spoken to -
Adam Voges as well
- about the possibility of coming back next year.
"David has commitments through April and May through the India Premier League and it depends how much international cricket he will stay in because Australia are here for large parts of next summer with the Champions Trophy and then a full England tour."
Newell said Notts are also eager to bolster their bowling attack.
"We would still like to add a quality bowler to the players we have here," he said.
"We have some very good young bowlers in Harry Gurney,
and Luke Fletcher and lots of experience and quality in Andre Adams and Ben Phillips.
"But I think there is room for another one, ideally an experienced bowler who can add to our team in all areas of our game in red ball and white ball.
was our first pick but there are a whole host of bowlers we were interested in talking to and have been talking to."
