Glamorgan climbed off the bottom of Division Two as they recorded only their second County Championship win of the season against Gloucestershire.

Resuming on 167-5, the hosts declared on 204-7, to set 248 in 81 overs.

But veteran off-spinner Robert Croft, now 42, then rolled back the years on home soil at Swansea for a 26-run win.

The former England man took 4-53 as Gloucestershire were bowled out for 221, despite half-centuries from Jack Taylor (63) and Ian Cockbain (55).

Croft's heroics came in what could prove to be his final Glamorgan appearance on his old home ground, as he is out of contract at the end of the season.

Following up his first-innings figures of 4-51, this time he took his wickets in the space of 23 balls.

While the visitors' seventh wicket pair of Taylor and Cockbain were together, a victory for the visitors still looked possible on 195-6.

But Croft turned the match Glamorgan's way by removing the two dangermen as he mopped up the tail.

Cockbain guided a turning ball straight to Stewart Walters at leg slip and the ageless spinner struck again four balls later to claim the wicket of Richard Coughtrie, brilliantly caught at the second attempt by Gareth Rees.

In his next over Croft bowled Taylor and the final scalp came when Ian Saxelby drove him straight to midwicket.
