Match scorecard

Kent moved into a 146-run lead before they were frustrated by rain in their County Championship game in Hampshire.

The visitors, 291-5 overnight, progressed to 432-8 in the 33.4 overs possible before wet weather ended the third day's play early in Southampton.

Darren Stevens (40) and Geraint Jones (36) helped Kent to four batting points with James Tredwell and Matt Coles unbeaten on 21 and 19 respectively.

James Tomlinson has been Hampshire's best bowler with figures of 4-79.

Promotion-chasing Kent, who still have two first-innings wickets left, will need their remaining batsmen to score quickly and for their bowlers to shine on Monday's final day if they are to claim the victory.
