Gloucestershire were forced to settle for a draw against Leicestershire as they fell 13 runs short of victory.
Needing 222 for their third win of the season they were in control on 176-3, Dan Housego made 50 and Alex Gidman 62 before a collapse to 199-8.
Claude Henderson (4-80) and Robbie Joseph (3-36) took five wickets between them in 43 balls, but James Fuller (18 not out) steered the hosts to 209-8.
Earlier, Ramnaresh Sarwan's 93 helped Leicestershire to 288 all out.
Needing 222 to win in a minimum of 53 overs, Gloucesteshire looked well set to push themselves into the Division Two promotion race when they were left with 47 off the final 10 overs.
But good spells of bowling from Joseph and Henderson, who bowled unchanged from the Chapel End after tea, changed the complex of the game and the hosts had to bat out the draw.
