Middlesex v Nottinghamshire: Wash-out sees two sides draw
|
County Championship Division One, Uxbridge (day four, close): |
|
Middlesex 98 & 239-2 drew with Nottinghamshire 329 |
|
Middlesex 3pts, Notts 6pts |
Middlesex batsman Andrew Strauss was unable to build on his 127 runs after overnight rain forced a draw in their match against Nottinghamshire.
The outfield at Uxbridge was left sodden, and umpires Martin Bodenham and Jeremy Lloyds took an early decision to call an end to play.
A draw and six points keeps Notts top of the Championship, 16 points clear.
Strauss' side, in third, take three points to close within two of Warwickshire in second.
The England captain will now leave his county side to join up with the national team for the first test with South Africa at The Oval.
