Glos 5pts, Essex 4pt |
Overnight rainfall on an already soggy outfield ended Gloucestershire's hopes of staging any further play in their game with Essex, which ended in a draw.
Umpires Tim Robinson and S Ravi called an end to the match an hour before the 11:00 BST start time, with Gloucestershire stuck on 284-4.
The wash-out means the final two days of the fixture were lost to the rain.
Essex, who did not have the opportunity to bat, are now five points behind their hosts in the table.
