Leicestershire 80-3 (8 overs) beat Derbyshire 72-6 (8 overs) |
Leicestershire kept their heads to beat neighbours Derbyshire in a rain-reduced eight-over FLt20 thrash at Grace Road.
The title holders finally got the defence of their crown up and running with their first win of 2012 following four consecutive defeats.
Greg Smith hit 23 off 15 balls as Leicestershire totalled 80-3 after a frustrating two-hour delay.
But, despite 15 off Wayne White's first over, Derbyshire were limited to 72-6, to suffer a third straight defeat.
Abdul Razzaq (3-20) and Rob Taylor (2-7) turned the game round with some splendid seam bowling.
The game only went ahead after three inspections by umpires Neil Bainton and Nigel Cowley.
