Scotland and Surrey share points after rain ends play at The Oval

Defending champions Surrey had to share the points with Scotland after rain ruined their Clydesdale Bank 40 encounter at The Oval.

Only 23 overs were possible before the weather closed in with the visitors having recovered to be 124 for four.

Surrey pairing Jade Dernbach and Stuart Meaker threatened the Scots after reducing them to 46 for four.

An unbroken stand of 78 between Jean Symes and Preston Mommsen slowed progress before rain halted events.
