Yorkshire drew with Essex following a heavily rain-affected final day of their Division Two clash at Headingley.
Resuming on 144-2, Andrew Gale's unbeaten 48 helped the hosts add 70 runs to their second-innings total.
The Yorkshire skipper chose to declare at 214-4, leaving the visitors chasing 262 from 74 overs for victory.
Ajmal Shazad dismissed Billy Godleman and Alviro Peterson to leave Essex on 7-2 but the two sides shook hands after just 19 more runs were added.
